Sep 22, 2009 - I don't believe you; But, don't feel bad I don't believe just about anyone's claims on education on youtube
SadChristian Says:
Sep 22, 2009 - That's okay. That's what I call a really good compliment. If you can get such a high grade that people don't even believe you, I'd say that's good. Thanks :)

Sep 23, 2009 - no problemo dude.... sorry I've been watching ninja turtles again

Sep 25, 2009 - Actually...I just thought of something. I am completely in favor of abolishing all incomplete theories!...including the theory of evolution. But first we start with abolishing the least plausible theory...that would be religion! ;-) Regards, Wim Ahlers.

Oct 4, 2009 - 1:15 Science books take a one sided look at evolution? They take the side with evidence! If creationists ever manage to produce any evidence for their belifes they won't have to lie cheat to force creationisim into text books. The publishers would do it for them without argument! But since 150years of research has only found evidence that surports and expands on the evolutionary theory, thats what goes in the text books!

Oct 4, 2009 - SadChristian "a tremendous peace that revisits me when I'm not sinning and goes away when I am" When you do good things you feel good about your self, when you do bad thing you feel bad! So do I. It's called empathy, gratifacation guilt. If you feel those things it means you're probably a good person but it doesn't mean god is plucking your heart strings.
SadChristian Says:
Oct 4, 2009 - No, no. I feel those things too at other times. I'm talking about peace. Not peace of mind, not gratification - you might liken it to a "high" (though I've never gotten high so I wouldn't know). I don't know how to explain it any further. My breath becomes this fire as I breathe in and especially out. It's very difficult to describe. Sort of like explaining the color red to a blind person.
SkyDoginthetube Says:
Oct 5, 2009 - SadChristian You get a good feeling inside you don't know how to explain! If you can't realy explain it how do you know it's any different to what others feel? What makes you think this feeling proves god is plucking your heart strings? How do you know I don't feel the exact same thing when I do somthing good or somthing I'm proud of? I'm sorry but the nice feeling inside you doesn't prove anything!
SadChristian Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - I know you don't feel this peace because I used to be an atheist. I only started feeling this peace exactly the moment I started taking Christ seriously. Furthermore, I've been sinning a lot lately and don't feel the peace. Because it's perfectly correlated with how seriously I take Christianity. Correlation =/= causation, but only b/c other variables might be present. There are no other variables. It does prove something - just not to anyone but me.
ThatOneQuestion Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - You have to realize that your entire argument is based on feelings, which is psychology. You could well be suffering from psychological events, and not be receiving those warm fuzzies from any Cosmic Jewish Zombie at all. I do have a question for you. You say you get warm fuzzy feelings from talking about a particular god... okay, how did you come by that god? You must have encountered stories of other gods, right?
SadChristian Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - Psychology is not science. Unless you consider mathematics disorder, spelling disorder, etc. as valid mental illnesses. Don't know what else to say. There's no scientific explanation from what I feel. The placebo effect certainly doesn't explain it as I have tried to feel that peace and haven't felt it.
ThatOneQuestion Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - Psychology is not science? Silly Theist, you dont have to tell me that. I know there is no scientific explanation for your EMOTIONAL or PSYCHOLOGICAL feelings. Thats why I said it was psychological. Wow. Your inability to feel certain things under certain situations doesn't lend a single shred of anything to your argument, which is psychological. Thanks for making my points for me.
ThatOneQuestion Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - Your argument for the existence of your specific feeling, which you attribute to a Magic Man in the sky, is as meaningless and useless as any inmate at your local sanitarium. Seriously, what makes you any different from someone who thinks they were abducted by aliens or saw a five headed dragon eat a smore with them at a camp fire? Nothing. Its just accepted because a large number of people think they have the same thing.
SadChristian Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - Oh. I thought you were trying to say that the peace I feel is due to some mental illness. Hence my rebuttal that (basically) according to psychiatrists, *everything* is a mental illness. Additionally, I am not claiming that this peace proves God to everyone, just that it proves it to me. I realize no one will believe me. But I'm not lying, and I felt it worth a shot to try to win some over to the Truth. And I also realize that it's a longshot.
SadChristian Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - edit: proves Him to me.
ThatOneQuestion Says:
Oct 6, 2009 - "I thought you were trying to say that the peace I feel is due to some mental illness" Certainly not. Your feelings arn't enough because you can't share them. Even if you could, so what? Christianity makes some very specific claims about how we got here and what happened in our history. The reason we challenge you is that you believe that book based on a feeling, despite the mountain of evidence debunking that book. See the problem?

Nov 9, 2009 - It's not so much that Casey Luskin is a liar but that Fox News allows this scumbag to publicize his crazy beliefs. Fox is really filth.
Mortison77577 Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - Apparently Casey Luskin was right in that Haeckl's embryos still do appear in textbooks not as historical material, but as a portrayal of how embryos really look and as evidence for common ancestry. Nevertheless, what it says in the books may not be completely wrong, just a little inaccurate. The problem is probably that an embryologist didn't get to look at that part of the book to check for errors.

TheObnubilators Says:
Sep 13, 2009 - I agree Luskins an assclown, by all means, but what do you mean there hasn't been a debate in 150 years? Sure that's when Origins was published but to equate that event with the end of all debate on the matter, is inaccurate.
