Intersex society of North America suggests that at birth, a gender should be assigned into how a guy or girl should be raised. in islaam, there is a category of intersex individuals, however, I think their families should be taking care of them more so and not leave them like this.

Nov 8, 2007 - I forget the name of the song, but it's not Indian or Pakistani. It's actually a song from the soundtrack of the miniseries "Dune" by Frank Herbert that was on the Sci-Fi channel. It is an AMAZING story about humanity in general, and the power of free will. Very appropriate as background music.

So, while research is still young regarding this discovery, it appears to be an inborn thing. Sexuality (and gender) is never black and white anyway. Homosexuality might be tied in with Intersex but those people that are solidly one gender cannot claim to say that sexual orientation is an inborn thing because there is no solid evidence to date.

Feb 11, 2008 - Actually that music was Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard from the "Gladiator" soundtrack... :) I am also disappointed in the "psychological problem" statement made by the movie. I do however appreciate where it is coming from and feel that no matter what the reasons this subculture comes from a pre-existing group and, of course, has the right to be treated with dignity and respect.

I am currently studying medicine at Drexil university. I hope to be able to travel and to help them when I graduate. But to clear things up, we are neither male or female. We are a 3rd gender. Jul 14, 2008 - Praise be to Allah for giving the world this presentation. I am a muslim transsexual in the west. GLBT people here are so Islamophobic and say "Over there you would be killed. You are a Muslim but don't know Islam." This at least prove's I'm not crazy. This video, is like a Pakistani "Paris is Burning" but IMO much more respectful of it's subjects. We in the west would have been lucky to have such a documentary about us 10 years ago.

May 10, 2009 - I thought Hirjas were found only in India. The term "eunuchs" is misleading in English because it implies they are males who have been castrated. Some have surgery to make their biology fit their gender identity. The American Psychiatric Association classifies their condition as "Gender Idenity Disorder" which most trans people object to. I've done many videos on transgender people. While 80% are homosexual, the other 20% are heterosexual which I will explain next.

May 10, 2009 - By 'heterosexual' transsexuals, I mean a man who is attracted to women may have the gender identity of female. After surgery becoming a legal female, this person is still attracted to women so he goes from being a heterosexual male to being a lesbian. Trans men also exist but usually pass as males, grow beards, etc. I have a video entitled "Why Women Chase Trans Men" in which Hugo, now male, who was a female attracted to males went from being a straight woman to being a gay man.

The problem is that male homosexuals are forced to undergo sex change operations even though they are not transgender. Homosexuals are executed in Iran other Muslim countries. What happens to trans people in Pakistan now what does the Taliban do with them? In the USA, trans people have organized hold demonstrations demanding their rights. May 10, 2009 - This was a great video documentary speaking from the heart celebrating the humanity common to all of us. I thought the fact Hijras buried their own at night because the site of their dead body could cause infertility was terribly sad. You realize that we live in a world that recognizes two genders, male female. In fact there are millions of different genders. Each one of us is a mixture of male female. In the womb, we all start life as females later some become male or trans.
