Nov 10, 2009 - She does not breath excessively. As you have to keep the sound longer than ussual, is obvious you need a 'bigger' amount of air in your lungs. Besides, she breathes at the proper times. The only thing I saw is that she seem to have problems at holding tones, but she has a really nice voice.

This is not what opera should aspire to be. Considering how bad technique she has, it's a miracle she can sing at all. She should study, study, study, and then maybe record something.

Nov 11, 2009 - Can't hold notes, can't breathe properly, her gasping for air hurts the soul, she did not stress a single note, she can't convey charm to the audience, stiff as a board, cannot sing in French (obviously), and her dress is not suited for the occasion. She would do well as a bar entertainer in the Bronx, NY though (at best). For a REAL Habanera, check Maria Callas' performance. It's on YouTube, black white. Real woman, real voice, real talent, real charm, real opera.

A very pretty girl who is not, in my opinion, a mezzo at all, but a soprano with a limited range. When she isn't overweighting the voice with that fabricated 'hooty' sound and sings lightly, she is charming. Overweighting the middle of the voice also stops an extension of her range. A good teacher would have seen this. Check out Leontyne Price's Carmen if it's available.

I just feel she is a soubrette soprano who has been steered in the wrong direction. Still, she has a successful career and has retirement taken care of! And yes, Callas... What a pity she never wanted to sing the role. she would have been the definitive Carmen.
