Sep 6, 2009 - my friend laura is biologically is male. he going thru the process of being operated. she just had her nose done and her breasts. its quite sad how she talks about being trapped in the wrong body. she has a son and was married, she even served in the army as a man. i find it interesting that she still wants her son to know she still is his daddy but wants him to call her laura at all times.
anuls Says:
Sep 10, 2009 - the only reason any one should get an operation is if they have wrong parts to begin with, But getting one cuz u "feel" u are in the wrong body is a ridicoulous claim and sounds like a spoiled child would ask for something liek that. "hey donate a bunch of money to me cuz i want attention" lol what a bunch o ffags
grishno Says:
Sep 10, 2009 - I suppose that you'd also dismiss that Gender Identity is a recognized, diagnosable and treatable condition in the DSM... treatment being therapy and if warranted, surgery.
hazelangus Says:
Sep 12, 2009 - My dad is a transwoman too and the way we have dealt with it is that my brother and I still call her Dad and she doesn't mind that. I am glad that it worked out this way for us - Dad has always been Dad to us, and so it would be very hard for us to call her anything else. It may well be different for yougner ones though - a 4 or 5 year old might be alright with the change because they are so young. My brother and I were 18 and 22 when our dad came out as trans and it would have made it harder.
hazelangus Says:
Sep 12, 2009 - They DO have wrong parts to begin with. They have the wrong body for their brain. It's unfortunate that there are no concrete tests for it, but then there are no tests for depression either and that is a fully recognised condition. Also, not all gender dysphoria requires surgery. It's like any other medical condition - intervention has several levels, from counselling and living 24/7 in correct gender, to hormones, to various levels of surgery. I suggest you do some research. :-)
hazelangus Says:
Sep 12, 2009 - I would say that the person is ignorant, not the religion. Religion can make it worse though, certainly. It's all in your attitude. The fundie Christian would say that god created male and female and that's it and god does not make mistakes, ever. The more open-minded Christian observes all the diverse problems that people are born with and concludes that either things start out perfect and go wrong in the womb, or that god creates all these things, including gender dysphoria, for a reason.
TheCharleycat Says:
Sep 12, 2009 - We always hear about the psychological side of the transgender person, which is quite understandable, but being the child of the transgender person is never really talked about. It must have been really hard for you . Were you embarrassed to be walking down the street with the person? What was the hardest thing for you to come to terms with or put up with socially?
Makyui Says:
Sep 14, 2009 - You're a fantastic therapist, Anuls. That must be the case, if you're so easily able to dismiss established neurology and psychology research. Surely, your Nobel prize is just waiting for you.
LillyDunkel Says:
Sep 20, 2009 - You sound like an idiot and are obviously very ill informed. But if your opinions aren't due to ignorance, it's also possible that you are just an asshole. Go watch some more Fox news. Also, by "u" did you mean "you"? That's all.
settlefornothink Says:
Sep 23, 2009 - the only surgery you need, ya twisted human, is a swift shotgun to the face. stop proliferating your weird ass bullshit.
