Oct 26, 2009 - ok I really dont know how to sing using my diaphragm can someone help me? x
imvsam Says:
Oct 26, 2009 - cuteminti3- Your air should be filling up in the bottom half of your stomach. Lay down and put a book on the bottom part of your stomach. Then breath, the book should move up. When you breath push the air down. Good luck.

Oct 27, 2009 - hi ive a question, A week ago i got viral tonsillitus which developed into a cold. The cold is now gone and the tonsillitus and Ive been singing today and my voice sound horrible! I cant hit high notes like I used to be able to and Im wondering is this normal after having a cold? With some practice should my voice go back to normal? Im very worried as I got a lead singin part in a show and with the way my voice is now I could not go up and perform :(

Oct 29, 2009 - question!! Do you have to sing loudly to hit high notes?
chilidog1001 Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - nope..just use your diaphragm alot
dragonrider002 Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - Don't worry. If I'm not to late, I have some advise. Your poor throat needs time to heel itself. Yes, I know the cold and tonsillitus has gone, but your throat hasn't fully recovered, yet. You need to STOP singing until it has healed, which could take up to a week, or you will damage your throat, and perhaps, your singing voice a bit, too.

Oct 31, 2009 - then you obiviously no nothing about singing..you've gotta exercise your vocal chords with exercises like this..it also helps expand your vocal range

missperfect121995 Says:
Nov 4, 2009 - Put your hand on your neck if you feel a real strong vibration from there you are singing from your throat if you feel a slight vibration you are singing from your diaphram also the throat singing sounds pinched and not letting the sound come through. When singing from your diaphram there is more of a roomy sound, a bigger louder sound and more spacey.
ricoismybitch Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - @missperfect121995 yeah
musicbaby24601 Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - when you sing with your diaphragm, all your your support and breath should come from the muscles in your stomach. it is very helpful when you are trying to belt or sing higher notes. it is basically pushing and using your stomach muscles, not straining your throat. an easy exercise to know if you are doing it right is to breathe a deep breathe and expand your stomach, and make sure your shoulders are not rising. if so, that is engaging your diaphragm. hope i didn't confuse you!
