Sep 28, 2009 - Your songs always give me goose flesh as they remind me of my parents who have ong passed away. My father was in the army and he and mother used to sing your songs so often that i learnt them by heart. I was a 1948 baby. You are great Dame vera Lynn and well done for being the number ONE in the charts. May God Bless you all! Magda Magri Naudi Malta

Oct 3, 2009 - how can this video possibly move a 41 year old man to tears? We'll meet again was the first song i learned all the words to. It will always remain my firm favourite. I'd love to meet this great great lady one day. Vera you did us proud and always will.

Oct 6, 2009 - Even for me, a 39 year old Dutch man, she is the archetype of freedom, liberation, hope and proud. My parents were children when Holland was liberated but the still can tell us all the beautiful stories about the Tommies, Canadiens and American soldiers. Knowing that I am a child of Freedom and democracy thanks to YOU and hearing Vera, touches me deeply. Thank You.

tlibber Says:

Oct 9, 2009 - I agree completely. I hadn't discovered the beauty of Dame Vera until about 9 years ago, when I got one of her CDs and, I confess I don't know why, I found it very moving...and still do. She looks great here. By the way, the Dutch people are perhaps the bravest, most soft-spoken, wonderful group of people I've ever had the pleasure to have met. This coming from a 39-year-old American. Cheers!

Nov 8, 2009 - My dad was a guest of the Emperor on the Burmese Railway. Someone begged borrowed and stole parts and made a crystal radio. At great risk the men were led 2 at a time to hear 20sec of the BBC World Service to show them that the claims of the guards that Britain was collapsing were false. For his 20sec. my dad heard Therell be bluebirds What a boost.
