The link at the end shows an EDS spectra of kaolinite in Fig 3, with MORE oxygen than aluminum. While Fig 17 of Harrit's paper shows MUCH MORE aluminum than oxygen. Additionally, and fatal to the kaolinite theory, the kaolinite contains a significant amount of GOLD, which was NOT in the red/gray chips, in ANY way shape or form.

Did Jones test for any gold in the dust? No indication.

Nov 25, 2009 - This all goes to the main point that if you're going to make an earth-shattering claim, you don't publish it in a bottom-feeder journal, but you do pro-actively send your samples to testing labs and materials engineers, incendiary experts, chemists, etc at dozens of universities in order to build credibility with solid, repeated, independent corroboration by non-conspiracy theorists. Someone also needs to build a case that explosives were used. Still no evidence of that.

Once again, gold did NOT show up on ANY of the XEDS spectra in Harrit et al's work. You can go on and on about Jones all you want. I don't really care. This type of stuff takes time, and it IS in the process of being verified independently. Why don't you acquire a sample yourself and sent it around if you are so gung-ho about it?

The problem is that none of his shifting claims, from thermite to thermate to spherules to nano-thermite have been corroborated. I don't need to do the testing. The folks like you that make the claims need to do it.

The silicon and aluminum are bound chemically in Kaolinite.
