Jun 15, 2008 - Brotherman...., If you attended the BB King Blues gig in New York, You would of witnessed what I am saying for yourself! Freddie Stone!Greg Errico and Larry Graham were the heart of the powerful groove that Was Sly and The Family Stone Period in my opinion.... That chemistry is gone! I don't think the original lineup will ever be heard live again because of the Sly Stone Experience within the band! Riot is the truth!! After Fresh, Small Talk it was a wrap as far I'm Concerned. Peace, Blessings.

Jun 16, 2008 - Yes. I attended 2 of the 4 BB KING shows in NYC. The late nite show in Nov. and in Dec. We're gonna have to agree to disagree. Were you there at the very last show at BB KING's? That was me that Sly handed the mic to at the end of "Higher". Now: 1. Sly is 64 y/o 2. This band was just as funky! 3. Yes! Sly physically cannot do what he used to. 4. Can Eric Clapto do today what he did in his 20s? 5. Can Paul McCartney sing today, as he used to in his 20s? Sly's ok!

Jun 16, 2008 - Excuse me???? You didn't think that he was still alive?????? you thought that he was dead????
bcfreeman Says:
Jun 16, 2008 - Brothes Sisters, Sly is my all time childhood idol. So, i'm kinda protective of him. Everyone will always judge him by his past mistakes. That's a shame. However, he is a survivor of the 60s and of drugs AND STANDING STRONG. If you expect a 64 y/o man to be like he was in his 20s, you will be disappointed!!!!. This man and his band put on good shows worth seeing.

Eyemallfunkedup Says:
Nov 14, 2008 - Thank God that Sly lost "it" a long time ago. I'm sure we would all be better off in this world if we all lost "it". Because "it" hasn't really got us anywhere has it? PEACE

Dec 28, 2007 - Thanks for posting this. When I was at the actual show and he did that 'my mama, my mama' line, I really wanted to remember it, so thanks for helping with that. When my funk band Post Junction (we have some vids on youtube) played this song last weekend, I added that line in. Sly is still coming up with new funk, and we're still listening.
