Nov 12, 2009 - I think what you're missing is that it is possible for humans to contribute to warming *and* for the Earth to have its own independent warming/cooling caused by other factors. These things are not mutually exclusive; just because things like the sun can cause the Earth to warm/cool does not mean that human emissions cannot also cause climate change. The concern is that the warming caused by humans is occurring comparatively rapidly and will cause problems with the climate.
