Aug 3, 2009 - Well, it is not Wikipedia that is saying he is gay; it is an interview which is only quoted by Wikipedia. Good reading.

Aug 4, 2009 - John Cameron Mitchell is openly gay. He does alot of work for GLAAD. And has done numerous Pro-Gay films. Check out Shortbus. Good flick. I am not gay but have a brother who is. And we actually met John in Chicago. During a benefit for children born with AIDS. Great guy. Sorry to burst those bubbles who thought he was straight.

Aug 8, 2009 - so if only straight actors can play straight roles, then only murders can play murders? your logic is kinda weird. actors are trained to pretend, they would suck if they could only be characters that were like themselves.

Aug 10, 2009 - I know, I was just trying to mess with that one guy because I couldn't believe that someone could possibly doubt that the creator of Hedwig was gay :/ I figured my statements were so over the top that people wouldn't take them seriously...I even had my girlfriend help me come up with the most ridiculous sounding things possible...talk about backfiring lol for the record, love John Cameron Mitchell, and I adore Hedwig. And I'm a gay transwoman lol.

Aug 10, 2009 - does it matter if he's gay or not? he writes fucking beautiful and amazing music. and he is a very pretty woman by the way he kind of reminds me of juliette lewis. whatever you guys piss me off talking about things that don't matter. How about this song. Talk about that.... its beautiful and something to think about as well as the whole movie.

SuperJaneEyre Says:

Aug 11, 2009 - I agree...that's why I was making fun of the people who were originally debating whether he was gay or not but instead everyone took me seriously and it made the whole discussion even more intense and took attention away from JCM's gorgeous voice and Steven Trask's amazing music. So I completely take responsibility for the derailment of the comments on this video. I'm not being true to the spirit of Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Aug 11, 2009 - sorry, misunderstood. sarcasm often gets lost over the internet.

Aug 13, 2009 - He is just amazing.

ih8spam1 Says:

Aug 17, 2009 - Yes, he has one of the best voices that I've ever heard. But, he did not write any songs. It was Stephen Trask that did ALL the song writing. Ok, yes, I do feel better getting that straight.

Sep 26, 2009 - Actually, they both wrote most of the songs, this one first, it's an adaptation of Aristophanes' story of the origin of love, as recounted by Plato in his Symposium. The musical started as a series of sketches loosely based on a German woman John Cameron Mitchell knew as a child.
