May 26, 2007 - thankyou THANKyou for digging up and posting this gem. true story--i showed my schoolteacher friend the lyrics to this song--he burst into tears.

leppo71 Says:

Jun 30, 2007 - This makes two contributions to Youtube, both commenting on Rheostatics' videos. Full disclosure: my CD collectilon runs 3000 large, yet I've none from the aforementioned band. But everytime I hear a track of theirs, I realize the depth of that absence.

iris2gamera Says:

Sep 7, 2007 - If you have 3000 CDs they should *all* be Rheostatics albums. :-)

blatspanner Says:

Oct 25, 2007 - i find these mofos infinitely preferable to the tragically hip.not that there's any connection between them, other than being canadian.

littleone30 Says:

Nov 12, 2007 - This was their last song of their last show ever. Sigh.

Nov 14, 2007 - Most bestest music makers ever! This video was my introduction to the band and made me an instant fan--have all their CDs and have seen them live a few times. I am now living in a cave, awaiting their reunion tour.

happeningfish77 Says:

Nov 17, 2007 - I could join you in that cave! This video made me happy as hell when I was younger. I remember Martin wore that jacket when they opened for the Barenaked Ladies (!) in London in 1991 and I was in love. (Omg I'm old.)

00TerryTsurugi00 Says:

Nov 18, 2007 - Hmmm... I think we're on to something here. Kind of like "Desert Island Discs". i.e. if one was to go into isolation in a cave and await their return, just what albums would one take? Let's be reasonable here, and allow three albums each and they don't necessarily have to be Rheo albums.

bigmayo111 Says:

Apr 14, 2008 - This is THE song that made me a Rheo-fanatic. Being from Detroit, the only "alternative" station was from Canada, and there's a percentage of Canadian music they were required to play, so I heard all about The Hip, Crash Test Dummies, and too many Naked Ladies. Rheostatics stood out from the get-go, and I can always find amazing discoveries in their music. I always will.

winggoddess Says:

May 5, 2008 - is the song supposed to sound broken up?

thegirl44 Says:

May 23, 2008 - No you're not Pet. it's just seeing things like this that reminds us that we got a little more life experience than others.

thegirl44 Says:

May 24, 2008 - My second favorite two minutes in all of rock n' roll.

bandcouver Says:

Sep 11, 2008 - Nope. It's an audio problem. Too bad,it's such an amazing song. dammit!

greenxxghostie Says:

Oct 14, 2008 - i never knew that about Detroit getting Canadian stations, that's pretty neat! i guess 'cause you guys are so close to Toronto Ont...i'm canadian from the west so grew up watching these guys on MuchMusic in early 90's :D this 'aliens 1988' totally got me into them!

tayloreh Says:

Nov 30, 2008 - but did it ever end beautifully. I'll never forget the way the lights shone on Martin as he said "he died"

mattisprettycool Says:

Jun 14, 2009 - Man, Martin Tielli is so young here.

Crash1568 Says:

Jun 25, 2009 - Also my first forray into the Rheos. Extremely unique and 100% Canadiana at it's best! Coincidentally, i'm reading Bidini's "57 1/2gigs" book.
