Nov 4, 2008 - love this film. i lived in paris in the 80s and used to go to all the places where they filmed it - galleries on the champs elysees, jardin de luxembourg, canal saint martin. and my french friend used to play the piano solo for me! no other film has as much style or atmosphere for me.

Wenn ich mir die heutigen deutschen Filme ansehe, in denen sich Schauspieler meist nur in Fäkaliensprache anschreien und anpöbeln, kann man eigentlich nur gleich nach dem Werbeblock rausgehen.

With the money I made at my first job, I bought the soundtrack album and drove my family crazy. If you have never seen it, see it! --especially all you kids who think the 80's were so stylistically dreadful.

Nov 16, 2009 - I saw this movie in 1983 when I was 12. I didn't quite get it but I liked what I didn't get. I had the opportunity to see it again in the late 80's and liked it even more. I watched it again in the 90's and liked it even more. I now can see this film was way ahead of it's time. I saw it just recently and it's almost timeless. I can still easily get confused and place it being made 10 years later. Ditto on the appreciation of opera.
