Oct 22, 2009 - The burden of proof does not lie only with the believer. (We are all believers in something). It lies with the minority position. If God (a higher supernatural creative being) does not exist, then you believe in something. You believe that the universe came into existence out of nothing. Prove it. I deny the universe could have created itself. Now the burden of proof lies with vous.
PitbullD Says:
Oct 24, 2009 - You prove to the world that you do not know what atheism means. Your argument is full of illogical fallacies. The proof is on the one who eleges something is. Most atheist do not say THERE IS NO GOD. They only say, the evidence has not given then a reason to believe their is one. The real problem is for theist like you that claim that there IS a god. You must proof that YOUR god is real because there are PLENTY to choose from.
PitbullD Says:
Oct 24, 2009 - Your argument is flawed. Atheist do not claim that they do not believe in ANYTHING. Your argument that the majority of the planet believes in god, therefore, God is real is flawed. The MAJORITY of an idea does not mean that it is TRUTH. The Majority of Americans in the 1700's believed slavery was the RIGHT thing to do. I'm sure you don't agree with them. Therefore, the Majority doesn't mean anything. If most of the world was Atheist, would that mean they are right? Of course not!
PitbullD Says:
Oct 24, 2009 - The minority position has nothing to do with burder of proof. THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON THE ONE WHO CLAIMS SOMETHING. You continue to proof by your arguments that you know NOTHING about science nor law. Science DOES NOT say the universe came out of nothing. CREATIONIST say that science that that and they are wrong.

jcr4runner Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - In either view, there is something that is believed. The atheist claims something: "The universe came from nothing." The Christian claims something: "The universe came from God." The natural universe is subject to natural laws, so it could not simply appear out of nothing. Given the exchange of energy in the universe, we know that according to these natural laws, it could not always have existed. Something existed outside the natural universe in order to bring it into existence.
jcr4runner Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - To say, "I believe in nothing," is an oxymoron. It's a logical impossibility. To believe God does not exist, presupposes a belief in something else as an alternative. There is no neutral position in epistemological systems. One always has a belief and therefore the burden of proof is to show that your belief is correct. Ironically, you show the illogic of the atheistic system. You believe in yourself and the world around you. So how can everything come from nothing?
jcr4runner Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - Obviously, the slavery proponents were wrong. So you prove my point: The belief in slavery opinion had to be overcome by people who believed in "no slavery." "I don't believe in slavery! The burden of proof lies with the slave holder and until then I won't believe in slavery nor do I need to prove my view!" It makes no sense at all. Everyone advocates for something.
PitbullD Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - STOP SAYING ATHEIST BELIEVE THE UNIVERSE CAME FROM NOTHING. Not all atheist are the same. Just like all Christians are not the same. You cannot lump people into one group. Wow, you really need to check out a book on logical fallacies because you are commiting a lot of them right now.
PitbullD Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - All atheist do not believe in the big band theory. There are Christians who believe in the big bang theory. Are you going to call them atheist also? This debate is over. I refuse to waste my time!
PitbullD Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - You have not taken the time to look inside your bible. You don't believe in slavery but the proponets of slavery had every right because the bible DOES NOT condemn it. In fact, it seems to promote it throughout the old and new testament. Here are some scriptures. Colossians 2:22 1 Peter 2:13-19 Ephesians 6:5 Jesus doesn't condemn it either Luke 17:7-10 There are laws about slavery in the old testament Exodus 21:1-32 I am sure the slave masters used these scriptures. Are they wrong?

Nov 3, 2009 - you don't think it is somewhat amazing that Jesus is so popular? that this one man is so talked about?... you're problem is you think you've got it all figured out... yet, the only way you can see this is if the Spirit of God allows you to see it... pray that God would open your eyes, just once..
GodsaveHisAnnointed Says:
Nov 3, 2009 - you cannot figure it out... you must be awakened by the Spirit of God... you must see through the power of the Spirit of God...
GodsaveHisAnnointed Says:
Nov 3, 2009 - how in the world can you say that unless you are blind... How can one man be so talked about and so loved and so contraversal in all of history? There is no person in history who is as influencial as Jesus Christ.. the only way to see is for the Spirit of God allows you to see... sincerely ask the Living God to open your eyes, and you will see...

Nov 3, 2009 - the son of man has searched for that mystery god trillions of years and was unable to find this so called mystery god God cannot be seen with the physical eye Your perspective of god is a person with magical powers that can reserect himself Pure lies The world is divided in to the 85% the 10 and the 5 The 85 is the christans like you who are brain dead and worship what they know not. The 10 are the rich, slave makers of the poor. The 5 are the muslims who belive that god is the original man
NaledgeizPower Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Basically to this day Jesus Christ is the biggest well known legend that is still surviving and has roamed other gods out of existence, its a myth in my opinion, how can you force yourself to belive in something like this, like force your mind and heart without having any proof but evidence of just pure text wirtten by 150 unknown authors that were written hundreds years later after Jesus's Death??? HOW???
jcr4runner Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - What about the dozens of KNOWN authors who wrote between 10 to 100 years of Jesus death?

jcr4runner Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - "I simply do not believe in anything." To say you don't believe in anything first presumes that the concept of ANYTHING exists. Therefore you believe in "anything." To say you don't believe in God presumes at least a belief in the CONCEPT of God. And yes, you do need to prove why your concept of God's non-existence is possible -- especially when over 90 percent of the planet sees God's existence as an obvious reality.
