Oct 9, 2009 - Games workshop never used to own blizzard, GW wanted blizz to make a 40k game then backed out when most of the graphics were complete. Blizzard decided to keep going and make their own story and game, creating the 12 million+ selling masterpiece Starcraft. Either way, having 3 unique races in sci-fi only leaves so many options open. As said earlier, you could get grenade launchers on marines in the beta (and possibly zerglings were like that) when this cutscene was made, no doubt.

Nov 16, 2009 - If I remember correctly, those weren't actually the marines but soldiers from the local colonies who have been fighting for independence from the UED. Zergs were deliberately released onto the colonies in an attempt force the colonies to join the UED and to prevent their independence.

Nov 19, 2009 - actually i'm not entirely sure that the Colonist's knew about the UED yet. these guys just saw a battlecrusier and assumed it was for support because who else is terran, in that section of space, and is not apart of the Korhal Alliance? btw i know Jim isn't with Mengsk
