It is merely a poem written to tell the story of a woman going to war in place of her father, the only real issue disney had was that she was discovered during the war, but in the poem it was that she revealed her true gender after the war when she returned home with her war comrades and wore womanly clothing. It is not sure whether poem is fiction or fact, so in reality, disney's will be as accurate as this is to be; an expanded version of the poem.
