Pink Floyd needed a dirty great stage spectacular to compensate for the fact that they themselves 'really didn't do much' whereas The Who don't need inflatable pigs, ruddy great lazers, screen footage or walls crashing down because they are that dynamic watching them perform is a spectacle in itself.
