Nov 17, 2009 - For all you people who say Stacy was better, Freddie wrote this song when he was told he was going to die, hence the lyrics, can you imagine how hard it would be to sing a song about your own death? But he did it because he was and will always be the best at what he did which was be a showman. R.I.P Freddie Mercury
DanceCrazy100 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - No one will ever compare to queen, but you can hardly say stacey killed it when she was told to sing it and actually did a pretty decent job of the vocals! But yeah Queen kick everyone/everythings arse.
BunnyRabbitD Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - I truly hope you are not serious.
tnabetta Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - How can it touch you more? This song was wrote by a man who was dying! And he sung about his own death! How does that not touch you!

Nov 17, 2009 - How funny, I first heard this song many many years ago and have only just learnt Brian May sings part of it :) Did he really write it when he was diagnosed? I thought it was written for the film Highlander
lelon02 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Dude, get your facts right. First of all, it was Brian May who WROTE AND COMPOSED the song. Second of all, the song was released in 1986 as the soundtrack for the movie Highlander. Freddie Mercury was diagnosed in 1987 so there is no relation as far as I can tell... not to undermine his performance in any way. I just love the song and know its roots. and STACEY NAILED IT.

Nov 18, 2009 - I love Stacey and I would love her to win. And yes she nailed it - for a singing competition, but as an artist, no. We dont realise that unconsciously, we have lower standards for a singing competition in terms of standards of performance. By standard of performance, I'm referring to confidence level, believability and emotional connection, as well as technical ability.
ElectricMcrDust Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - This was released a year before he was diagnosed, but i guess it would have been hard to sing that song after he knew.
lelon02 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - I really understand what you mean but in terms of emotional connection and vocals I believe she stepped up a lot with this song and I could see the artist in her now more than before. And she's still learning and growing as an artist ... she'll get there :) and I cant wait to.

Nov 18, 2009 - Ofcourse it touch me. I never said it didn't. :) But I don't know. I think it's because I love live more than just the song. And again, I never said it didn't touched me. Because it does. Queen sings this song perfect and I listen to it very much. At first I didn't thought Stacey would do it better. But when she started. It was so beautiful! I'm sorry if you doesn't agree with mee. But this is my opinion. And so you know, I love the version of Queen either! :) Don't get me wrong. :)
silvahlady Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - No, Freddie didn't compose this while he was dying. If you're looking for something like that, listen to "The Show Must Go On" - written by Brian May for Freddie when they found out he was dying. This song is about an immortal man facing his mortal wife's inevitable death (Highlander). It was written and composed by Brian May for the soundtrack.

sundimented Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - U cannot compare stacy with Freddie Mercury, u might as well compare 'jedward' with Michael Jackson, Freddie had one of the best vocal ranges of all time...stacey is good but in no way comparable to the legend that is Freddie Mercury, the thought of that makes me laugh....I think u should have a look at all the songs Freddie sang before u come to a conclusion
S3AANNN Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Yep. Totally agree.

Nov 20, 2009 - i want you live forever FREDDIE
lelon02 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - I think you should have a look at my previous comments before you come to a conclusion yourself. I never compared between the two and I never would. I simply said I loved the way Stacey sang the song and if that means that it's automatically being compared to the original artist's version then it's your problem not mine.

Iamthe1Liz Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Both Stacey and Queen's versions are good... but I am incined to go with the original Queen. I hadn't heard this song until x factor, it's so amazing!!
