Nov 12, 2009 - I believe they wanted no sound even when 5 chuckled a bit because they wanted to show how barren and lifeless this planet really will be like. I also loved the father-son relationship they had more as in the movie, they were like best friends. I've also noticed that the 5 from the short is vaugely similar to the 2 from the film. and now the more i think about it, it would be awfully frightening to have to defeat something all by yourself, then continue on life with just you and some rubbish.

Nov 14, 2009 - I agree. I saw the movie in theaters on opening weekend and my first impression was they were very resourceful and curious kids. To me the movie was like a combination of Terminator, Toy Story, Nightmare Before Christmas, and a little dash of Transformers with the transmitae vitae talisman the inventor used to give them life. I definitely liked the full movie better since 9 still had 3,4, and 7 for company at the end. Make you realize how important it is to have friends.

Nov 16, 2009 - This short film is far superior to the movie of the same name. This short film sets a real feeling of isolation and loneliness, whereas the full-length film was just long with no real feeling to it at all. With the setting of the short film, a happy ending is not required, because that would not be real life. The full-length film is better not being watched if you have watched this film first. Well done Mr. Acker.
