rdsnuke Says:
Oct 13, 2009 - Depends where you are in Britain. British have a lot of accents and pronunciations for different words. I say "Ad-ver-tise-ment" being from the north-west. People in the south-east say "Ad-vert-is-ment".
NoMoreCinnamonRolls Says:
Oct 14, 2009 - That's actually really interesting! *~* It's kinda like the difference between the East and West Coasts in America....plus those scary texas folk....-;;; No offense to Texas-ers!! ^-^;;

Oct 16, 2009 - Canadians are hopelessly confused when it comes to speaking English. We were taught that both English and American spelling is acceptable. We haven't been able to pronounce a single word correctly ever since.
Azurenai Says:
Oct 18, 2009 - Texans don't really have the definitive accent, try some other "true" southern states like missippi.

Oct 23, 2009 - As far as I know, Canadians like me are taught the same type of English as Americans. Yes, the Canadian version of the English dictionary is slightly different, but the English I've learned so far is not hopeless and every American I talk to or have written to has understood it.
TreborNotron Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - Being from the South East, I can tell you it's not ad-vert-is-ment here. I know somewhere does say it like that, I just don't know where =/.
