Nov 8, 2009 - What happens if one of the cosmonauts needs to go to the toilet about ten seconds before lift-off?

LiLMARSLI Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - they are trained to hold it :P

TheCyclomethicone Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - I just read they have about ten minutes before the lift-off time to go to the toilet since...I guess it was Juri Gagarin?...had to pee before the start and they had to start some minutes later. Nowadays it is like a "tradition", to give the astronauts/cosmonauts/whatever the time they need. Sorry, I did not remember, how it was exactly.

mach25man Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - Astronauts wear diapers while waiting to launch. Once on orbit, they use the toilet.

Nov 12, 2009 - you think it would go a litle faster..

vfxmasterorin Says:

Nov 13, 2009 - it's going pretty fast, it's just that the size of the shuttle and the distance from earth to space makes it look as if it's going slow.

mjmck88 Says:

Nov 13, 2009 - The Ares rocket is replacing the space shuttle and will be used for lunar missions. It's a lot like the old Apollo Saturn V.

Nov 15, 2009 - great video! how do they pee in space or take a shit? I have a feeling that if they take a shit it might fly around and hit them in the face, so to my dumb idea there has to be a better answer :/

Maisy5 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - They use special toilets with vacuums.

AlexSochi8 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - cool thanks... all tho that might hurt their balls, still better than shit flying and hittin u in the face :)

Salien1999 Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - Last I heard they are like 100 tons, we can barely build it let alone launch it.

NLspartan117 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - I always wonder why are the camara's in those space shuttles always from very low quality? Is that to expensive or something? Or is the upload quality the problem?

mach25man Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - That tank camera is a throw away. Do you want your tax dollars to buy the very best ?

Pirate88179 Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - I think that 17,500 mph plus is pretty fast. Bill

Bahfu Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - Don't you think it's a somewhat strange idea to see the things below you become smaller? It's not like in an airplane where you ascend in a slope. This one is ascending almost vertical from the same spot where it's being launched. It's awesome to see..

jellybeanlive Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - wow, i'm gonna view this first hand one day.. simply amazing!!!

parokyaadik Says:
