Nov 7, 2009 - From what I've heard a dirty bomb doesn't really do much harm except for the people near it the explosion. The threat of dirty bombs are extremely slow. The radiation is to little do much harm to anybody and all you have to do is walk away. The most it can do is cause panic and terror. There are no long term effect from the radiation seeing as there is not enough radiological material in them to begin with.

The threats of dirty bombs are grossly exaggerated to cause fear. I don't think these people have much to worry about event the ones that were near the blast. It's only huge nuclear bombs that have been proven to have been connected with health hazard not tiny ones like the ones in the video.

Nov 7, 2009 - The radiation caused by the dirty bomb in this scenario is relatively harmless unless there is prolonged exposure. You don't need to be in concrete bunker in order to survive. The main thing is, don't ingest or breathe the radioactive material, and keep it off your skin. I would be much more worried about local, state, and government reaction to a dirty bomb than the bomb itself.

I know that these type of things that change the human structure can also affect new borns. similar to urnanium.

A dirty bomb is a nuclear warhead designed to produce a great amount of radioactive debris by use of a fusion core and or caused or activated by a trigger such as a cell phone trigger or a timer. I still dont get much of the definition though.
