Oct 9, 2009 - will you explain what a Diminished-perfect fifth w/octaved root- major pattern is?

Guitareben Says:

Oct 9, 2009 - nah he rarely uses phrygian - more blues scale and dorian scale (specially in megadeth) and his japanese scale - though he also uses lots of arpegios etc

Guitareben Says:

Oct 9, 2009 - no marty does no theory, not TONS but quite ha lot - but he doesn't tie it into his playing thast much ie using certain scales at certain times, but he knows what he is talking about

hedba Says:

Oct 12, 2009 - Let me correct you, marty doesnt know much theory, but his ear UNDERSTAND it. also like jimi hendrix and many more.

cooper3661 Says:

Oct 14, 2009 - such a good song.

cooper3661 Says:

Oct 14, 2009 - The perfect fifth is the musical interval between a note and the note seven semitones above it on the musical scale. For example, the note G lies a perfect fifth above C; D is a perfect fifth above G, C is a perfect fifth above F. The perfect fifth may be derived from the harmonic series as the interval between the second and third harmonics.

Oct 23, 2009 - I saw Melodic Control, and he does know a fair amount of theory. He is mostly a play by the ear kind of guitarist, but he knows more then he generally says he does.

XplodingGuy Says:

Oct 29, 2009 - marty knows TONS of theory actually

wmuha Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - refridgian

zoidberg4eva Says:

Nov 1, 2009 - and he's cool for that. He is a great guitar player, one of the best i've ever heard! and if he knows more than he says he knows thats good for 2 reasons: He must know a hell of a lot, and he isn't an egotistical twat like alot of guitarists :P

Nov 12, 2009 - fucking legend! extremely underesramated guitarist!

fabianidhesona Says:

Nov 13, 2009 - by who?

fabianidhesona Says:

Nov 13, 2009 - yeah,I' ve noticed the same thing. he always says how to follow the chords. I' ve seen a lot of guitar instructional videos, and Marty is the only one tha talks about following chords. he is mos like a jazz player, and not just a boring shredder. plus he is aware of what he plays. someone who doesn' t know theory could never play like Marty.

fabianidhesona Says:

Nov 13, 2009 - are you kidding me????? he knows a lot of theory! marty talks always about notes and other stuff.
