Nov 8, 2009 - why does this have to be a comedy -_-

finnobrit1 Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - What's wrong with it being a comedy?

Just1LeafOnTheWind Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - The teaser sets the scene for a serious film.

finnobrit1 Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - With a pigeon pooing on a stone eagle?

Just1LeafOnTheWind Says:

Nov 9, 2009 - Yes, 2 seconds of a trailer lasting 2 minutes and 40 seconds definitely makes it a comedy.

finnobrit1 Says:

Nov 10, 2009 - It can if it's the last two seconds... ;) Anyway lots of great sci-fi films mix serious stuff with comedy. The original Star Wars was full of comedy, almost every other line that Han Solo said was some kind of joke.

Just1LeafOnTheWind Says:

Nov 11, 2009 - Dry jokes, yes. However if this is like 'In the Pirkinning' at all, then it'll be a comedy first, serious second.

JMYodaTHX Says:

Nov 11, 2009 - Just the idea of having "Space Nazis" as villains makes my nipples hard! I hope this has an English dub though. Hard to follow the story, effects, gags AND still read subs for the Finnish.

Nov 12, 2009 - iron sky isnt finish langue there is a german actor's and british too :D

finnobrit1 Says:

Nov 12, 2009 - No one is saying this would be a comedy like Star Wreck, they're just saying it would have a lot of humour. The actors in Iron Sky are all professionals with experience of serious acting, whereas Star Wreck was almost entirely inexperienced amateurs.

finnobrit1 Says:

Nov 12, 2009 - Most people around the world are able to read subtitles for english language films, why should english speakers find it so difficult to do the same thing?

JMYodaTHX Says:

Nov 12, 2009 - I watch a lot of subtitled films my friend. It just gets tough to follow everything if there's a not of visuals to take in, like in a sci-fi/fantasy film. Mainly I was making the point that they seem to dubbed American films into all the other major languages. French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese German and Italian. However rarely do they dubbed those countries' films into English. (Chinese martial arts films and Japanese Anime excluded)

finnobrit1 Says:

Nov 12, 2009 - First of all apologies if it sounded like I was criticising you personally, I didn't intend it that way. I should have worded things more carefully. On the main topic though, I find dubbing ruins the acting completely. Even dubbing in animated films feels wrong to me. Even if there's lots of action going on, I have to hear the original actors to get anything out of the film. This is all a matter of personal taste though, there's ultimately no 100% satisfactory solution to translating films.

razelikz Says:

Nov 20, 2009 - Iron Sky is a science fiction movie in which the Nazis, after losing the Second World War, left the Earth in spacecraft and headed for the dark side of the Moon in order to rebuild the Nazi empire in secret, and to conquer the Earth again once theyd regained their strength. The movie's being produced by Energia Productions, Blind Spot Pictures and Cinet. Currently the team is finalizing the script, working to gather a top-notch production team, and are looking for second-round financing.
