Oct 26, 2009 - I have a collector's LP of Surrealistic Pillow from 1967. I bought it in a Half-Price Books. They have really good gems, occasionally. As far as 60's music, i found Bob Dylan, The Doors, The Airplane, Cream, The Dead, to name a few.

thespeez Says:

Nov 1, 2009 - Does the record disc have the black label with Nipper staring into the gramophone and the "RCAVictor" in Roman letters at the top?

cw200890 Says:

Nov 1, 2009 - Yes it does.

thespeez Says:

Nov 1, 2009 - Cool! Then yeah, that IS a find! Congrats! I hope the disc is in decent shape and that you'll get much enjoyment out of it! I'd love to get my hands on something like that. Word of advice: if you don't have this on CD, may I strongly suggest either burning it on a CD or making a copy of it on cassette.

cw200890 Says:

Nov 1, 2009 - Thank-you, and the disc happens to be in excellent shape. I'll take your advice about making a copy. I can tell you're a collector. I'm trying to break into this 'field' so to speak. Where do you usually find your records?

floede Says:

Nov 4, 2009 - Actually it's generally understood, that Black Sheep sampled this version, while Pete Rock of course used the Tom Scott version.

Nov 5, 2009 - Thanx for posting such a great song...by one of the most incredibly creative musical groups in American musical history. What a tyme for living they represent.... Anything went...without guilt or fear...days we will not see the like of again for some time....

Grendelmonster8u Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - Latawie, I'll second your comment. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. There's no dull song on it. And this is a beautiful ballad - one of the best. The writing (lryics music) was tremendously creative, as you say, and out of this world vocals, especially Grace Slick's voice. Thanks Blestemp!

latawie Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - Thanx for the reply. Yeah, I totally agree. I think this album in particular was superbly crafted, and that it catches the entire band at the zenith of their creative flow. Just listen to Cassady's bass playing, and the way Jorma and he counter-play with each note played. As a bass player/ musician myself I am in awe. The band is pretty good...pretty neat.

trannyballs Says:

Nov 7, 2009 - this band expresses the euphoria of the 60's.
