Nov 5, 2009 - The Berlin Wall was constructed by Stalins Russia to force the Americans out of Berlin. The Americans wanted to rebuild Germanys economy so Germany could become independent again. Russia wanted to punish the Germans. So the Americans began flying food to the Germans after the wall started starving them out. This caused relations between the USSR and US to sour. So, it's part of US history too. A major part, actually. It's their business also.
