Sep 13, 2009 - What kind of stand up grappling does bjj have? The same as traditional Japanese??? Or is it alittle different???
1j0k3 Says:
Sep 19, 2009 - similar to Judo, except it doesn't have the same rules, in Judo you get points for throwing your opponent to the ground, and it goes to submission if both Judokas fall to the ground.

Sep 23, 2009 - Good question... you know I was thinking the same thing?

Sep 25, 2009 - I have been using this set up for the leg lock for about 8 years. Works about 80-90% of the time.

Oct 4, 2009 - Depends what academy you train at. Some like to teach Judo and wrestling takedowns, some only like to teach the ground game.

Oct 9, 2009 - how much do lessons in bjj or gracie cost? id like to try it
drowzyus360 Says:
Oct 9, 2009 - its a nice move but it would be illegal in competitive bjj. The rules state that you're leg is not allowed to cross over you opponents leg as this puts too much pressure on your knee and could result in serious injury. If you kept your leg on his hip the move would be allowed. (anything related to the first two vertebraes is also illegal i.e: the can opener...)

Oct 9, 2009 - this is pretty advanced stuff. i aint a fan of bjj but this is impressive and extremely useful. thanks
bulletracer00 Says:
Oct 11, 2009 - each bjj move has smaller moves like this inside it to complete the submission while controlling your partner the whole time. if the white belt were to try to get out of it, he couldnt. he has complete control of his body by locks and holds. bjj is harder than it looks. it just takes time.

Oct 13, 2009 - I don't know why, but I never liked the leg lock....But it is useful so I should learn how to use it : )

adamvahle Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - is doable the moves are pretty easy to learn its just setting them up and going one move to another that takes time. You could do a heel hook no problem.
RVBOY2 Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - Both techniques are gold. Just be carefull on the collar choke from mount as you can be swept very easily. Peace
