Nov 16, 2009 - The comments started in response to somebody who was making a claim that evolution was infallible against a christian detractor. His statement was rude and misplaced. Unfortunately, youtube displays comments broken up and thus many people missed the context and got offended. I'm a huge carl sagan fan, this is one of my favourite videos, and I'm a practicing scientific researcher. I find it odd that criticisms of scientific methodology is met with hostility.

Nov 16, 2009 - There's nothing to criticize about the scientific method. It is a set of steps to follow in order to come to a theory about the way something works. It never tried in itself to try to explain a greater philosophical truth about the world. Carl Sagan did that and I commend him for it because this simple video deftly shoves fact into the faces of thousands of years of philosophical study that egotistically assumes about the way the world works and how we should behave.

Nov 16, 2009 - Also evolution is infallible insofar as the Christian creation method is concerned. There's not much to argue with when you say MAGIC! and spout it as a greater truth.

Nov 17, 2009 - You, sir, have just made the largest understatement I have ever seen.

SgtHydra Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - Not only that, but as a Christian myself, I find creationism to be insulting to God, reducing him to a mere magician preforming a week long series of tricks. I like to think God is smarter than that. Evolution just works; scientifically, religiously, and logically.
