Oct 12, 2009 - I see your point, but we're talking about snake here. As insane as the surrounding cast becomes, Snake's actions tend to stay relatively within the realm of improbable but possible physics. I can't quite say the same thing about Snake in Twin Snakes, though at least he has the good taste to fall over and grunt after surfing on rockets etc.

Oct 23, 2009 - Ocelot looks a bit shit in the GC version. And the fight between gray fox and snake there was obviously only added to make it look cool, but it never really happened. Only the original PS1 version is canon. When you grow up with something, changes to it are unwelcome.

Oct 25, 2009 - That depends on the changes.

Oct 25, 2009 - Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots ...all the other Metal Gear Solid games...

Oct 25, 2009 - pfft ok, Please...explain....?
MrMustBNice Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - Although The Twin Snakes was largely developed at Silicon Knights, its cut scenes were developed in-house at Konami and directed by Japanese film director Ryuhei Kitamura, reflecting his dynamic signature style, utilizing bullet-time photography and choreographed gunplay extensively. Kitamura created many of the games cinematics to look identical to those in the original Metal Gear Solid, but upon inspection Hideo Kojima had him redo them.
RushInNinja Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - Is that so, well that's really unfortunate that the dropped the ball with the remake. Thank goodness they used Mr. Kojima's true style in the rest of the series. Hopefully he continues to do so. Okay game though, just not MGS style.
filipeflower Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - Aren't you forgetting something ?

MrMustBNice Says:
Oct 27, 2009 - Yes that's all, I would've sorted through the references for the page and found the source and linked it up for you. However, that is not allowed here in the YouTube comments, Also I figured you're smart enough to check them on your own anyway.

Nov 2, 2009 - It's flaws aside, The Twin Snakes is a fun game and as a long time MGS fan, I had an enjoyable experience playing the first game in modern-day graphics and gameplay. Of course, I prefer the original but regardless, I do appreciate the attempt by Silicon Knights to recreate the experience of the original.

Nov 5, 2009 - You're absoultely right , I felt alot of the cutscenes were a too extra , the most realistic cutscene i remember from this game was when raven had shot him with the tanks cannon he flew away . Watching some of the cutscenes felt like watching a Michael Bay movie, too unrealistic . This game was fun to play watch all, but i prefer the original .
filipeflower Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - If they made the events the way they happened originally, maybe there would be no complaints.
3yE Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - I too suspect that the departure from MGS style might have been intended by Kojima. It's common of Japanese companies not to do the exact same thing a few times. Perhaps they went for a creative experiment to learn from it what works, what doesn't, and to possibly serve a different audience. It's often hard to foresee what impression something makes before it is complete. Finally, the original MGS is here to stay, remake being out or not.
RushInNinja Says:
Nov 24, 2009 - Good point 3yE, darn good point. Your right, I have seen this pattern often in Japanese media, an extreme departure from the original material is not as far fetched as it seems. This dual version is a better thing than I'd like to admit, as much as I love MGS the original and feel it was perfect in every glorious gaming way, this new version has opened the world of MGS to fans of a whole different field.
