Sep 28, 2008 - Yes it is, it is the early version of it. They re-recorded it at a later date as the punkier version you are thinking of. Listen to the lyrics.

Sep 29, 2008 - My gosh, I stand corrected! This sounded so different, I didn't even recognize the vocals! Thanks for the clarification. I do like this version a lot! I never heard it, I don't think....Thanks for posting it!

Sep 29, 2008 - I meant that I didn't recognize the lyrics, not the vocals! No way to correct one's post on youtube, it appears....

Jan 5, 2009 - This bears no resemblance whatever to the song of the same name on the Greatest Hits LP that came out around '67. That song was incredibly progressive for the time: Counterpoint in the rhythm section, meter changes in the interludes, and a flirtation with Indian ragas. This is something completely different. Anyone got the other one?

Feb 1, 2009 - Just a reminder that this is the "first' version of Louie Go Home. The Raiders are possibly the only group to record both versions. FYI many groups recorded the first version - check your file sharing service.
