Also the standards of care were written in the Houston area and WPATH/HBIGDA was originally formed in the Houston area. We had one of the first gender programs in the country. The early educational stuff about TGs came from the Houston area in the 70s. Hou is home to the 1st open TG marriage in the US (early 70s).
