Nov 15, 2009 - @pretearking you really have no foot to stand on. I am beginning to feel for oyu. Why not troll another page? You obviously have no fact to back your statements and dont wish for a resoloution. Typical? I have looked at the comments you have posted elsewhere...you repeat yourself...and not in a benificial light...goodbye, as I said if you wish for intellectual conversation please mesage me otherwise...

robfanclub Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - @shuttsjay: That's what they do. The biblical account doesn't hold up, so any fact-based conversation really can't go anywhere. The best they can do is to use double-talk and similar tactics to create the appearance of a draw. They hope that people will defer to fear. (If atheists are right, they're won an intellectual debate. Theists, on the other hand, believe there is a lot more at risk and feel entitled to use whatever tactics necessary.)

Nov 15, 2009 - PFunk, its must be nice to have good Christian friends who dont make it IMPOSSIBLE to speak to about religion without emotions errupting converting a conversation into a shouting contest... I wish my Christian friends were more open. 6:29 A theory a scientific theory are 2 different things. A scientific theory is an analytic structure designed to explain a set of empirical observations that are falsifiable. In other words, its just an explanation of gathered evidence.

Nov 16, 2009 - @robfanclub Indeed. I found it somewhat amusing that it was stated that I made up the quotes from the bible there a few posts back yet there is a link to the scripture :) I guess that you have to be aware of what to expect in those / these situations so it doesnt so much as suprise me as astounds me sometimes.

Nov 17, 2009 - part 1: I've heard many atheist journeys, I would like to share my journey as a Christian, I began going to Church when I was 2 years old, I always loved God, but I wasn't fully committed until I began reading the Bible, I switched churches at six years old and I love my church now, my Poppa was a full time alcoholic until he turned 63, he began going to church with my Grandmother in February, he was saved an recieved, "the alcoholic journey rehabilitation bible"
MIKAFAN41 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - he read the whole thing in about 2 months, spend long times each day reading that bible, he stopped drinking and smoking, that was replaced with worshiping and spreading God's word, he was saved that Summer and baptised, he also ended his life that year on Christmas eve, it was very emotional, but I KNOW I will be with my Poppa again one day, and I am so happy to know that! its a huge burden taken off my shoulder to know that I may not be able to see my Poppa, but my Poppa can see me

Nov 17, 2009 - @MIKAFAN41 Hi. Your story did touch me. And I think you are a nice person to talk to. Please let me share my thoughts as well. 1-About your Dad, I'd say that to give the credit for his recovery to God would be like diminishing the things that he had to go through. In those cases, I've seen the credit of the success being given to God many times, while the fault of the failure goes to the alcoholic. Like if he's clean, than God is doing it, but if he drinks, then its...
thadeuluz Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - ... all his fault. Is this fair? Is it really impossible for someone to stop drinking alone or in another religion? 2-I'm sure the thought of being with him when you die is pretty comforting, but it does not mean it is true. Besides, even if it was real, how can we possibly know of that? Don't you agree that it is a lot more honest to say that we (or anyone else) don't know? Our knowledge have limits, and death is clearly one of them. So tell your sister and nephews you love while you...
thadeuluz Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - are toghether, because no one can possibly know what (or if anything) will happen on the afterlife. 3-If you feel amazed by stars, I'm sure it is not because you think God put them there. You know why? Coz I feel it too, just like egyptians, romans, indians, native americans and so forth. I'm sure every civilization had a diferent explanation for them, yet they all felt the same emotions. Same goes for trees, babies, the ocean and bananas...
thadeuluz Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - You feel like you love God because you've been told since you were 2 that life is God's work. But what you really love is LIFE itself, just like every other human being. What I don't get is why so many people want more than life itself. The whole world of things to see, touch, smell, grab and feel isnt enough? An amazing world with no Gods, ghosts or supernatural? We atheist are just trying to be honest, by not leting anyone get away with the credit for this magnificent existance we all love :)

Nov 18, 2009 - If this is spontaneous, why does pfunk have the video? Why was the video capturing him from behind, as if it was taken by the christians? I don't believe in god, and I don't believe this was spontaneous. If pfunk wants to exhibit his debating skills, that's cool, just don't pretend it wasn't a setup.

Nov 21, 2009 - Fucken idiots, theory doesn't mean guess, a theory is a hypothesis that has overwhelming evidence to support it and has passed the scientific method. You prove God or disprove God because God is supernatural and supernatural by definition is "outside the laws of nature" which cannot be tested by science only works with things in the existing world. It is easy to make up something supernatural but it is not easy to make up a scientific theory because science takes logic and not faith
MIKAFAN41 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - I have to be really mad to cuss someone out, it doesn't happen much.

anmpir Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - A theory is not a hypothesis. A theory is an established hypothesis (a prediction) that has not been proven wrong and is backed up with observation, experimentation, incorporated laws and various tested hypotheses that are widely accepted. The law of gravity might be proven wrong, but to this date we have a wealth of information that supports this theory to be widely accepted as fact. Learn people; Don't be ignorant and don't fall to red-herrings.
