Nov 17, 2009 - AM radio, which was the king in those days, didn't like to play "edgy" rock. They played mostly rock groups they considered mainstream. FM radio was where you had to go to hear a lot of GFR and other, what we called, progressive rock groups. We called it underground radio, and it was. Not every place had FM radio stations and their power was low. But if you were in a bigger city or were near a large college or university, you could find an FM radio station.

Nov 22, 2009 - Grand Funk was and still is the greatest Rock Roll band ever. My most treasured album in 1971 was the double Live album and still is. I saw them on their American Band Tour. Thanks for posting this video.

Nov 23, 2009 - The same here, XPIOLT, I played that album over and over again (at a volume which drove my parents and the neigbours crazy !) For me they were in that period easily the most intense, powerful rockband in existance. AND they could play very delicately to, if need be. I especially loved (and still do) Mel Schacher's incomparable bass sound !
