The Abrahamic religionists never claimed that their religious texts were down by angels or by GOD HIMSELF, but rather they claim that they were inspired to write them down or written by their scribes. Maybe for you there is no evidence of texts being divinely inspired, but for me it's crystal clear that some of them are divinely inspired. The text itself is evidence whether it is or not. Just because you don't see the evidence it doesn't mean that the evidence doesn't exist.

Nov 19, 2009 - if there is a god, he would be careless bored and sadistic, "it" would relish conflict and slaughter and the acts of praying or honoring "it" would be meaningless. the most plausible expanlation to the creation of the world and such would be the same as putting up a set of dominos, you set it up and watch it fall, put in a couple people and some wars and such and i think it would be very entertaining indeed. =3

Nov 20, 2009 - God IS great... religion DOES poison everything. Dont think about religion; think about Jesus, the man that really did live. He said He was the Son of God, and that he would be put to death (he was crucified), and that His death would be sufficient punishment for our sin. Do you believe him? Please answer that question. Think about it, study it, seek the truth, read the Bible, Torah, Quran, Book of Mormon, etc. Try to find your answer, but please dont just avoid the question.

Nov 21, 2009 - i believe he existed because there are multiple sources outside the bible that refer to him. however, there were hundreds of others claiming to be prophets in the same sense. in the words of Penn Juilett "Monty Python's Life of Brian is more historically accurate then Mel Gibsons the Passion of the Christ" and why would god say "i wont just forgive you, ill get you to murder my son first, then ill forgive you!!" doesn't make sense this, among hundreds of reasons, is why im no longer catholic

Nov 23, 2009 - God doesnt say "i wont just forgive you, ill get you to murder my son first, then ill forgive you!!" The truth is, He CANT forgive you without Christ. As a just and righteous God, he cannot let sin go unpunished. Therefore, He gives Christ as a sacrifice for sin; a perfect sacrifice that displays God's love, justice, wrath, and redemption. Also, I dont blame you for leaving the Catholic church. There are some practices within the church I feel are not Biblical.
