Feb 23, 2008 - I agree, he's obviously being instructional rather than having speed as his goal. His surface mounting is actually very clean and would pass an ISO inspection.

Aug 10, 2008 - I could tell from the way you applied your paste that this was going to be a first class job! 10/10 from me buddy this has to be one of the neatest jobs ive seen EXCELLENT!!

Aug 18, 2008 - good soldering, why is the switch on the paste applicator so loud? Smack! Smack!

Sep 3, 2008 - The IC pitch should be 1.5mm? It should be easily done by soldering iron. Your solder paste dispensing skill is very impressive. ^^

Sep 24, 2008 - Gotta be honest, at first I thought, "Heh, he's using solder paste... what a n00b. Real men use regular solder!" lol Then I saw how nicely it turned out, and my thought quickly changed to, "Oh... that's f-ing beautiful." :P Nice work! I should really invest in some solder paste. I just got a nice hot air gun / soldering station combo... Aoyue 968. Many people may not consider that "nice," but I think it's perfect, and that there's no reason to pay any more for such a station than I did.

Oct 6, 2008 - Not 1.5 mm, but 1.27mm (2.54/2) or (.100mil / 2) in inches

Mar 8, 2009 - If I'm upgrading a board , replacing like 20of thoose in that pace, I would be going on for an hour , that would be an expensive upgrade.. just tack'em on one side ,flux and drag it on the other side.one circuit should'nt take many seconds ..

Apr 5, 2009 - my first smd component that i mountet was a chip this size and used the methord you posted in text and was about 3x faster than this video
nikwalnikwal Says:
Apr 5, 2009 - please stop doing that! :-) solder a LITTLE on ONE pad then stick the circuit to that.. and solder the rest of the pins.. whatever you do, dont bend the legs of the circuit if it can be avoided.
nikwalnikwal Says:
Apr 5, 2009 - yes obviously, but as seen in the datasheet for the circuit , that method is'nt mentioned but the one I use is, and time is mentioned 2-5secs+fastening. anyway , paste is great for smd connectors with non accesable pins...

Jun 7, 2009 - what kind of recording device did you use to get a close up on this. quality of the video is great, good job on the solder too!
