Nov 10, 2007 - yes, this is an APU/GTS the GTS part is Gas Turbine Starter. it's from a Harrier Jump jet, the fuel pump is the same as used on a model jet engine

Nov 17, 2007 - it was bought from an aerobreaker, the butane is a preheat fuel to ignite the liquid fuel (pilot light) we're not sure what to use it for that the moment, probably a go-kart once we can restrict max RPM

Nov 28, 2007 - Hi Nissanr92cp, i think it weighs about 20lbs maybe more, we've never weighed it. thrust is unknown, probably about 40 to 80lbs at the most, once day we'll build a jet pipe for it. if your after an engine that can lift 175lbs then i know a manufacturer that can build the jet engine that will give that thrust. Dec 15, 2007 - n8lbv, i think it was running at about 30k rpm, not sure how much fuel/min as we only ran it for about 1minute because we don't have the gearbox lubrication sortet yet. where you see the stator blades there would have normally been a power turbine and planetary gearbox. TAKIAWAYAMSHITA (love the name BTW LOL) those are stator blades you are looking at, the power turbine has been removed. Skateolive101 the colour purple was due to the camera being using and floresant lighting
