Remember, the concept of "honor" in the Old Testament was totally dissimilar to that in the new. In the Old Testament, honor and shame are what everyone thinks of you, thus the Leviticus quote, etc. In the New Testament on the other hand, honour and shame are strictly a matter of individual conscience and your standing with God.
